Resources on Oil Spill in the Gulf

LSU Libraries has created an online subject guide for links to information on the Deepwater Oil Spill:

http://www.lib.lsu.edu/ref/oilspill/

In this guide, you will find a link to our Gov Docs page that has its own links to this kind of information. Here it is if you want to go to it directly:

http://www.lib.lsu.edu/govdocs/

I will be sending an email out to selected Louisiana Federal Depositories asking if they would consider collaborating on some kind of promotional material (in electronic format) to increase awareness of our collective resources for researchers and other interested parties who will be working on this topic that is so important to our state. My email will provide the URL for this blog so that interested parties can communicate their interest.

Looking forward to hearing about this from LA Docs folks. I am also thinking we might want to collaborate on a Browse Topics page. If you do not receive an email from me but are interested in working on this, please contact me at sbraunst@lsu.edu.

Well, I can't read Chinese, so I don't know what that person said in their comment (just kidding...I know its spam), but I think this is a fantastic idea. I already emailed Sigrid and told her I'd share some of my Delicious.com oil spill related links with her. I've been meaning to create a blog post and guide on my research gov guide wiki about the oil spill. I've tweeted a bunch of resources on my Twitter gov doc work account and shared blog post items on my Google Reader gov doc work account but that's it so far. Need to do more and collaboration is a good thing to do!

And I think collaborating on a Browse Topics page would be great!

Now that someone is spamming this blog, I have set it up so that anyone making a comment will have to identify those wacky letters. I hate that stuff, but I hate spam worse.
